Lucy found her forever family!

Lucy went to her forever home today with a very attentive new dad and a k9 brother. She is excited to start her new life with her new family! Her foster mom and dad and doggy siblings will miss her dearly but we wish her a long, healthy life! YAY Lucy!

Lucy takes a dip!

Come on in! The water's fine! Lucy beat the heat at the adoption event this weekend by lounging in a kiddie pool. Nothing like a little aqua therapy to strengthen her new knee. She put in a special request to go home with an adopter who has a pool or would like to take her to the beach in summer (but she'll be happy with any adopter who lets her play with the hose or a kiddie pool.) Lucy is a waterbaby!

Lucy's final checkup...

Success! Lucy went to the vet today for her 8 week post surgical followup appointment. Lucy had xrays taken to make sure her knee has healed properly and a final session with her physical therapist. Lucy got a clean bill of health! She is 100% able to resume normal doggy activities including chasing squirrels, wrestling with other dogs, running up and down stairs, and chasing her tail! Yay, Lucy! Now she just needs to find a family and she's set!

Lucy's first adoption event...

Lucy attended her first adoption event today. She enjoyed getting out of the house for some social time. Lucy beat the heat by dancing in the water bowl. Everyone around her got splashed, a welcome relief in the heat!

Lucy's back out on the road...

Since the weather was finally a little cooler today, Lucy took a nice long walk today to stretch out her new and improved ligaments. When she first arrived, she pulled quite a lot on the leash. She is such a quick learner that her leash manners are now near perfect. (Well, almost perfect; she found it difficult to contain herself when she saw a momma bunny and her 3 little babies. Maybe she just wanted to sniff and say hi, but we weren't taking any chances.) She's also working on her fear of passing cars. They are pretty big and scary!

Lucy had a bath today

Lucy is smelling pretty and looking fluffy! She had her first bath today since before her surgery and in this heat it was much needed! Lucy was a very tolerant girl. She stood still and enjoyed the cool water on this hot day!
